A skirt with an artisan look
After the advance of the baskets, the sandals made with rope, the straw hats and hats; the beige color and the coast as a place of inspiration for many designers, it is not strange that the garments (strictly speaking) worked in an artisanal way have become one of the great objects of desire of the season. And yes, here the machine of success also starts, because on several (many) occasions it is enough that the object simply has that finished manufactured. Regardless of the process followed, the aesthetic has become strong in 3.1 Phillip Lim and Oscar de la Renta, through Chloé. The dress has been the favorite piece, but the skirt version adds the surprise factor to the look.
Black and voluminous dress
Valentino’s spring-summer 2019 opening may have a lot to do with this trend: the first look of the Pierpaolo Piccioli collection was a strong and great dress in a resounding black. He has not been the only designer to include one in his proposal, but it can be considered his epitome, which makes the big black dress the novel alternative to the little black dress of a lifetime. Taking into account the commitment required by these large doses of fabric, the commercial versions choose to contain them by adjusting the pattern here and there, but especially in the bust part, to let both sleeves and skirt extend their measurements. And yes, the midi or long skirt is mandatory.
A shirt (or jacket) with large pockets
It is more: the pockets should go on the chest and, if the piece allows it, have even four visible. Both in the star color palette of the season, beige and camel, as in others like green khaki and neutrals, the inspiration recalls that of the explorers, the classic safari that has not failed since the 20th century. However, the multiplicity of pockets is also intimately linked with gorpcore and mountain sports (including, generously, excursions). The versions can be both literal, as those of Sacai, as more abstract and aligned with sophistication, as Hermès: this is a trend generous enough to adapt to virtually any style.
